Product Description: This damper is activated by heat during a fire event. When the temperature rises and reaches the melting point of the fusible link (UL Listed 165°F), the damper blade drops like a curtain due to the force of a stainless steel spring and the blade’s self-weight. This design enables rapid fire compartmentalization in air duct systems. The damper is tested and certified in accordance with UL 555, the standard for fire dampers, which evaluates closure reliability, operation during elevated temperatures, dynamic airflow conditions, up to 3 hours of fire resistance. The FD-EL series provides dependable protection in both static and dynamic systems. Specification: The FD-EL and SD-EL series dampers are UL 555 and UL 555S certified, with 3-hour fire resistance and low smoke leakage performance. Frames and blades are made of galvanized or stainless steel, and are closed using a stainless steel spring and gravity drop. FD-EL uses a 165°F UL-listed fusible link, and SD-EL includes an electric thermal link activated by smoke or heat.
